Great Diamond Island Community Resilience

WORKING TOGETHER,
TOMORROW'S RESILIENCE

Great Diamond Island faces a range of coastal challenges, from sea level rise and shoreline erosion to storm impacts and aging infrastructure. Addressing these risks requires more than individual property improvements—it depends on informed residents, strong partnerships, and community-wide planning.

The GDI Partnership works with local, regional, and state organizations to bring educational programs, workshops, and planning initiatives to the island. Together, these efforts help residents better understand coastal risks, strengthen community connections, and prepare for the changes shaping Maine's coast.

THE RESOURCES below highlight the community-led efforts to identify Great Diamond Island's strengths, vulnerabilities, and priorities for building long-term resilience. Together, they document the planning process, community input, and strategies that continue to guide resilience initiatives across the island.
